Affinity! Affinity! Affinity!

Who are we?  We are a family of 7; Husband & Wife and 5 Children.

Having a family size of 7, it certainly takes some effort and cooperation from all when we are going out for a meal, doing super-marketing, attending enrichment classes or even just a leisure walk around the estate, etc.  Hence, it always seemed to be a daunting task to plan for a “HOLIDAY”!!!  From deciding the holiday destination, to the planning of the trip itinerary, weighing the pro and cons of the accommodation available, and the booking of the air tickets.  There would be just so much to do which resulted in countless of sleepless nights doing researching and reading on our holiday destination; the weather to expect, the places and attractions to visit and the types of food available.  With the need to take in consideration if the places and food are kids friendly make planning more challenging.  Finally, after months of planning with booking and packing done,  thinking that we could finally rest and relax, it then dawned on us a couple of days before our departure about “How were we going to the airport?”.

We then started to google and search for the options we have to get ourselves to the airport and the followings are our options; 1) take a train/MRT (Nah, its not possible as our flight departs early in the morning) 2) split our family into 2 sedans (Never!!!  How can we split the family into two!!!) 3) or several different types of 7/8-seater MPV (Umm… Definitely an option.) 4) or a mini bus! (School bus??? Like the ones at our kid’s school?)  We clearly have 2 options, either a 7/8 seater MPV or a mini bus.  We had chosen the formal as the fee for both were similar and that we had considered getting one for our family a couple of years ago when we are changing our sedan to a 7-seater MPV.

Beep Beep… Beep Beep… Beep Beep…

DADDY… …  WAKE UP…  Today we’re going for our Holiday!!!

Wishy Washy…  Picky Packy…  We were walking from the lobby of our house to the pickup point for our transport to the Airport.  From a far, we saw a mini bus parking there and we was thinking “Is this our transport to the airport?” And as we were approaching it, the driver came forward and greeted us! “Yes this School Bus is going to send us to the Airport!” 

(We were feeling “meh”, “???”, “Did we Booked this?” as we were expecting a 7/8-seater MPV instead.)  

As the door slides across, we were awed by luxuriously lit interior of the bus!!!  Our kids just simply “WOW wow WOW wow WOW”.  We have never seen a vehicle like this before… and were totally amazed by this beautifully decorated interior of the bus.  We have never expected a “school bus” which our older boy had taken to School before can be this luxurious!!! 

While the driver was helping Daddy to load up the luggage, our children were having a whale of time exploring the bus; cat-walking, dancing, etc.  

When everyone settled in their preferred seat and buckled their seat belt, the door began to close.  Here comes our next “WOW”! After the door of the bus closes and all the lights switched off, we heard a mechanical sound coming from the ceiling and as we look up we saw a huge screen coming before us!  The word “Trolls” soon pop out and we’re in for a movie… The surround sound system filled the bus and we’re on our way to the airport.

Throughout the journey to the airport, our kids were quietly sitting at their seat enjoying the show hence ride that we’ve rarely experience throughout our years of commuting in our sedan and 7-seater MPV.

Looking at the joy that our kids were wearing on their faces when we reached the airport, we knew that our holiday started even before we board the plane.  We were so thankful that this “school bus” came!

During our week long holiday, we’ve been constantly talking about this amazing experience and we all agreed that this is the transport that we need!!!
